MTV turns 30… and gives us a reason to think about MTV for five minutes

Well, at least the first fifteen years were good.
Here’s our half-assed retrospective on the fledgling little network that was basically the baby Mike Nesmith gave up for adoption.

And just for good measure, here’s the first video we ever saw on the MTV sometime around, oh, fall of ’82. Yeah, it kind of blows – sorry.
Just for the hell of it, here’s the last video we ever saw on MTV. Though it may have been MTV2, actually – that would make more sense – it’s pretty safe to say that MTV was not showing Pulp on a weekday afternoon in the late ’90s. Anyway, wash away that bad monkey taste..
