The Hot Rats are in Brooklyn tonight…

And you can bet your sweet ass that we’ll be there.  Get real-time updates, drunken observations, and potentially comical typos HERE.

Just so you know, The Hot Rats are a cover band consisting of just Gaz Coombes (vocals/guitar) and Danny Goffey (drums) from the best beat combo you probably haven’t listened to in about 8 years – Supergrass.  If you’re in the NYC metro area and are so inclined, you can catch them tonight at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and Thursday at the Bowery Ballroom.  Also check ‘em out on Letterman Wednesday night and Jimmy Fallon on Friday.  Though they’re named after a Frank Zappa album and Supergrass once copped a Zappa album title (In It For The Money), it’s safe to assume that the upcoming Rats LP, Turn Ons (out in a couple of weeks) is not Zappa-related.  Unless they cover “Peaches En Regalia”… hey, it’s produced by Nigel Godrich – who knows?

Oh, and the ‘Grass will be back in May with their 7th album, Release The Drones.

Anyway, here’s a Supergrass nugget from 1997 – “Cheapskate”

And the Hot Rats themselves with “Drive My Car”
