Word, Greenpoint, Brooklyn’s first and finest English-language bookstore, is hosting a Rock & Roll writing consortium of sorts tonight at 7:30.
Head over to 126 Franklin St. (at the corner of Milton, about a block from the Greenpoint Ave. G) and witness:
Talk About Rock: The Trials, Tribulations, Hardships & Half-truths in Writing about Rock & Roll with David Comfort (Rock and Roll Book of the Dead),
Greg Milner (Perfecting Sound Forever: An Aural History of Recorded Music),
David Browne (Goodbye 20th Century: A Biography of Sonic Youth),
and Theo Kogan, former lead singer of Lunachicks
If nothing else, David Browne will hopefully explain both how and why he wrote a book about Sonic Youth.
