My Mind’s Eye: Small Faces coming to your DVD player soon

It’s all too beautiful, indeed!  This fall, Reelin’ In The Years Productions will be releasing a compilation of the moddest of all mod bands, the Small Faces.  Featuring new interviews with Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones and vintage sit-downs with the late Mssrs. Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane, tons of vintage ’66-’68 footage from Beat Beat Beat, Colour Me Pop, The Beat Club, Popside (beginning to detect a trend?), Morecambe & Wise, as well as the BBC and Granada TV vaults… not to mention DVD liner notes from the esteemed Ken Sharp – what more could you ask for?  A great-sounding compilation covering both the Decca & Immediate years where the band memebers actually get royalties?  That already happened.

You get the point.  And here’s a taste – “Tin Soldier”, a nice slice of proto-hard rock featuring the fetching P.P. Arnold lip-synching right along with the short ones.  If this doesn’t whet your appetite, then lay off the yellow jackets…

And don’t forget to watch Mac & the Bump Band on Letterman tonight!
